for getting the guys up to play today! I don't care what players we were missing, this team gave ZERO effort. That was the laziest performance I've ever seen out of a Gopher squad. They absolutely quit today. F'ing pathetic...2 hours lost I'll never get back. Thank you Tubby!

People like you are part of the problem as well. That was an absolute embarassment. The team and tubby should feel ashamed for the lack of effort. No excuses.

I hate to say it, but I'm with Moron Gopher on this one. Just a God-awful 2nd half of the season. Can I please have some of my $1200 back?

This team better do something next year or that seat donation deal in 2012 will be a complete disaster. If they have another season like this, they better postpone the whole thing or The Barn will be half-full.
 

I smiled during the game when the announcers started talking about how losing Al and Devoe is not an excuse for losing 9 of 10 games, that there's more going on, terrible scouting and preparation. I hope people on here heard that as well.

I guess I don't remember a whole lot of people saying that the only reason we have been so bad is because of losing Nolen and Joseph. There's no denying that losing both of them has affected us greatly. We're not nearly as good of a team without them. But even so, there's no excuse for losing 10 out of our last 11.

Gall, I heard it differently. Dakich said the reports are there. The kids have seen them, they just aren't playing. The kids clearly mailed this one in. How much of that is Tubby's fault, we will never know.
 

You can put in all the effort in the world.But if you can't shoot the ball it is all wasted.We have one shooter,no ball handlers,no quickness, and very little court sense.I mostly blame it on not recruiting enough depth at guard.The guys we have put in effort.But frankly NW had better basketball players.
 

It's all because we lost Al Nolen. Otherwise we would be a sweet sixteen team. What a joke. This team does not have one guard recruited by Tubby that is even decent. Not one!

Bingo. What Coach Smith recruits other than Mbwake are better than decent? A few had some hype, but either quit or haven't gotten better. The 4th recruiting class will hopefully be the charm.

just glad the suffering is over, going from one of the best teams in the country to one of the worst who could even win a CBI games or even the Minn HS tourney, just embarassing. even Iowa played better against MSU. Team owes a public apology, afterall they get schollies to a top university worth a $100 grand if they stay the term. Wonder how they'd fare in the intramural tournament? (losers bracket).
 

Losing 10 out of 11 is a disaster. You may try to cover it up and make excuses but its a disaster.

I can not imagine that a coach would let his team, fine young men left in his charge, to take the full blunt
of the anger of fans, sports writers, and whoever else and not be coach enough to stand up and say that
he takes responsibility for the way the season has gone. We all know that injuries are not his fault but one
ankle does not excuse this season. One player leaving does not excuse this season.
There are multiple factors but all teams face adversity.

I have now followed Tubby Smith for 14 years and he has NEVER, hear me, NEVER stood up and taken any fault.
He leaves that to his players that he is suppose to be teaching.
