Just wanted to make this thread for the sake of thanking those involved with the program this year personally (I mean hey who knows who casually reads this stuff).

To the team and coaches, it was one heck of a ride with some pretty amazing highs and some rough patches. Despite that I had a ton of fun watching this team play all year. Although it may not have worked out like we all hoped it would early in the season, this team still had some very impressive moments and made some great memories for us fans that I won't soon forget.

I wish all the seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors. Trevor, Rodney, Julian, and Andre stuck it out through some rough years and gave us something to really cheer for this season and I really appreciate that.

Thanks again to the entire team this year. Looking forward to seeing how we grow next year and let's hope for another bid!

This season went nothing like we all expected. It featured a lot if highs and some bad lows.

Even still and regardless of how the coaching thing goes I just wanted to throw out a big thank you. I hope this thread doesn't turn into a pissing match, but I know it well.

Thank you to the seniors. Andre Ingram, Julien Welch, Trevor Mbakwe, and Rodney Williams. You guys decided to play basketball at this school despite its faults, but because of its benefits and it's amazing qualities it does have. I can never be thankful enough for that!

To the retuning players, both Hollins', Joe, Oto, Elliot, Mo, Charles Buggs, Mav and Wally. Thank you for your continued commitment to Minnesota. I am looking forward to seeing how you all improve this offseason and play next year.

Thank you also to the incoming freshman for your commitment here. Can't wait to be saying thank you to all of you as seniors in 4 years and the things you'll have accomplished during that time.

Thank you to the walk-ons for your positive attitude, bench dancing, and work in practice.

And yes, thank you to Coach Smith and the entire staff. Regardless of what happens now and going forward, you choose to coach here over other schools and tried to win for this school. Thank you for your efforts and dedication to Gopher athletics.

Thank you all very much!

(And yes this sounds like a high school graduation speech)

...and don't be strangers, seniors. We hope to see you back around from time to time. We love you guys.

Man I forgot a lot lol forgot the incoming freshman too. No disrespect, just tough typing that much and remembering on my phone!

I know, just giving you a hard time after a nice post. Totally agree with the sentiment.

The screen looks pretty blurry when your eyes are so welled up. Joking... I concur with everything your wrote. Every year is special for one reason or another. This one will be memorable for me despite its warts.

Go gophers.

+1. Any year with an NCAA bid, much less a win is a good year. Whatever happens in the next few days, here's to doing it again next year!

Thank you to all of the players for your efforts. Thumbs down to Coach Smith and staff for not bringing the A game

Thank you players for not quitting when down by 21 tonight and choosing to go down fighting. Thumbs down to Tubby and his coaching staff for squandering the great talent we had on the team this year.

+1 - thanks to the seniors for choosing to represent our school and our state and good luck with all you do going forward.

Really going to miss Rodney and Trevor in a Gopher uniform. Lot of crazy highlights from those two. Good luck to them at the next level. Hope they have long careers.

Great thread. Thanks for the memories Trev and Williams, and thanks for staying home!

The win against Indiana was one of the greatest Gopher sports moments I have ever witnessed. I experienced pure, unadulterated joy that night, and I'll never forget it. Thank you for the memories, everyone! Can't wait until next year (as always)!

Most exciting night of basketball I have ever experienced, great memory.

+1000

Thanks to all the seniors for everything they've done for the program. I'm especially sad to see Rodney leave. I've felt like I have "grown up" with him. When he was a freshman at the U, I was just starting H.S. Now 4 years later he is done and I'm done with High School. I feel weird, like a part of me is gone. I know it might sound corny but it's true. I'll miss all the seniors and I hope to see the Incoming freshman in 4 years graduate and repeat this all over again :D

Thanks for your commitment, dedication and all of the great moments to everyone on the team! Remember seniors, once a Gopher, always a Gopher! We will surely miss some of the most exciting players to ever play for the Maroon & Gold and you will be loved by the fans forever.

Need to add my thanks as well. For the general griping we do on this board, the presence of these guys gave us the chance to have expectations. Memories are short, but this program was pretty low on talent about six yers ago and these guys willingness to come here changed that. The ones who stuck it out need to be congratulated and wished well in future endeavors. You could have quit and didn't. We are grateful and it says something good about you, too.

glad to see this thread take this direction. this is what its all about right here!
