Texas A&M stole "12th man" from The "U"

Most Seattle fans think and act like they invented it.

Too bad we didn't embrace it and make it our own slogan. More power to A&M for doing so.

Gig 'em and Go Gophers!

I didn't realize that Texas A&M had trademarked "The 12th Man". With trademark, you have to enforce it or lose it, and if Seattle was using it for over 20 years TAMU's trademark claim looks pretty weak. It's a pretty weak trademark claim anyway, while TAMU embraces, it, it's a widely used phrase that they didn't invent. Xerox continuously ends out letters reminding people that "Xerox" is not a generic term for photocopying, because if they don't, they lose the trademark. Trademarking traditions is rather weak, especially when it isn't even your invention, it's language theft.

wowza we should get in on that action! if what were syaing is true!
