Terrence Kerns

235 lbs with 4.5 speed? If he is as good as advertised with that size and speed, and has his grades up to par, I think a lot of other schools will join the race for him by December 2010. Regardless, good to see that we are in the hunt early.

On another note-the article says that Purdue has also talked to him. Seems like Purdue has interest in a lot of the same players we do-more so than perhaps any other team. (Wisc and Iowa possible exceptions)

Can't help us next year, will still be in Scranton....

Anyone have anymore info on this guy? Will he be available to play next year if we land him? He sounds like a heck of a back and has a little more size than our current guys (besides Lamonte Edwards)

I can't see him coming here over WVU, id rather have our stud 2011 Rb Phillips for 4 than this guy for 2. granted Philips is only a verbal and has been in trouble so who knows if he will ever suit up for the Gophers but I really hope he does because he is a stud and will be the next great gopher back.

See Michael Carter.

Another positive sign about the possibility of him coming here is the mere fact that West Virginia has done well recruiting RB's. Their 2009 class had 2 3star RB's and 1 4star RB on their commit list. JuCo players have to go somewhere where they will have a chance to get on the field. Additionally, I highley doubt WVU changes their offense to suite a JuCo running back, and he said he is an I formation running back.

As of now, we could offer him a chance to compete for playing time (and he is a year behind Eskridge, Bennett and Whaley), so a chance to start his last season, playing in the type of offense that suites him best.

2011 recruit according to this:

"According to both Kerns and Lackawanna coach Mark Duda, Kerns is doing well academically and will graduate in December of 2010, at which point he’ll be eligible to enroll at a BCS school and will have two full seasons of eligibility remaining."

Lackawanna must have had a heck of a team this year.

I think Lackawanna has a pretty good program year-in and year-out because their coach (Mark Duda) played 5 years in the NFL after a solid career at Maryland. Not a lot of Junior College programs with a coach with that level of accomplishment.

Looks like Kern ran for 737 yard, a YPC of 5.2 and 4 TD's. He has had a couple of teammates sign with Purdue over the last couple of years (Michael Eargle this year, Keith Carlos last year from what I saw).
