Anyone been to the Vikings pre-season games and sat in the temp seating yet? There's a group of 10-12 of us going to a game together this year and there are some open areas there where we can all sit together. I'm assuming they are just like the bench seating that is throughout a good part of the stadium?

Let me be the first to report this possible rumor. Reusse interviewed Norwood Teague on his radio show a week or two ago. I could be wrong but I thought I heard Norwood say that the U has made the decision to keep the so-called temporary seating in place after the Vikings leave for their new stadium.

I thought I heard the same thing so you might be right.

Boo!

This better not be true. Those seats look horrible. Why the hell would they want to keep an erector set in the middle of a plaza?

Not only do they look terrible, but they are also entirely unnecessary. Last I checked we can't even sell 50,805.

I listened to the interview and do not remember hearing that. FWIW

The more I think about it, I think Teague was asked if the temp seats would be taken out for the Gopher games, and Teague said no they would stay.

If you think about it, there is no way they would leave blue seats there full time.

I'm not quite sure whether he is just saying that they wouldn't be taken out for Gopher games, or saying the seats will remain after the Vikings leave. I suppose it wouldn't be too expensive to change the chairbacks to maroon once the Vikings leave.

Sid will clear this up for us in the morning.

I sat in the temporary seats for the soccer match a few weeks ago. Very uncomfortable, but the view was great.

Yeah I figured the view would be pretty good there. I like sitting in the end zone higher up, you can see things develop.

Thank you!
