TCU is joining the Big East in all sports

Hawaii is joining the ACC to replace Florida which is joining the Pac 10.

I would expect the Big East to lose/drop a basketball-only school in the near future. DePaul comes to mind. DePaul probably should have stayed in Conference USA.

They won't do that because Depaul gets them the Chicago market. Chicago might sway Notre Dame's way in football, but it isn't really that way in basketball. Depaul is a sleeper. If they can ever undo the damage the Kevin O'Neil's and the Jerry Wainwrights of the world have done to that program then look out. It's gonna take a while, but I doubt they would drop Depaul. Same reason they wanted TCU. Markets. That move gets them into Texas.

I don't know if the Big East is step up or down for TCU in football?

Are they still adding Memphis and UCF or was that just a rumor? Will they go beyond 16 for basketball? At some point it becomes a joke. It's bad enough that GT and Syrcause, Syracuse and UConn etc. don't play twice a year anymore. What will be the point when they start not playing at all?

TCU is an afterthought as far as basketball is concerned. The big east is going to have to shed some basketball only schools as they expand the conference to include more football teams. I think Depaul, Marquette, and Providence are at risk of being dropped.

Syracuse
Louisville
Cinncinati
West Virginia
Conneticut
South Florida
Pittsburg
Rutgers

Villanova
Georgetown
Seton Hall
St Johns
Providence
Depaul
Marquette
Notre Dame

Today's quiz. Can you name 17 colleges that don't teach geography?

What a joke. I suppose Boise is next and like the man said, then Hawaii. All the more reason I wish the Big Ten had grabbed Syracuse, Pitt and Connecticut and put this stupid conference out of its misery.

All of the schools in the Big East are east of something.

The Big Tens name fails to agree with pre-school math.

It is a step down from a conference with
TCU
Boise State
BYU
Utah

But when BYU and Utah leave and any chance of an auto-BCS leaves with them. The Big East is a MUCH better football conference to be in.
Boise State really gets worked over in all this.

Nevada and Fresno State are also joining the mwc and hawaii was rumored to be looking into it as well.

Well, the Big Ten tried to add Texas. The Big East adding TCU isn't much worse - it's a little worse, but not completely different.
