Yikes:

TCU defensive end Devonte Fields is under investigation by police after his ex-girlfriend accused him of pointing a gun at her, threatening” I should blast you!” then punching her in the head at a Fort Worth home Sunday.

Fields had allegedly left the scene before officers’ arrival, according to a Fort Worth police report.

“Devonte Fields has been listed as a suspect on a domestic disturbance in Fort Worth,” confirmed Sgt. Raymond Bush, a police spokesman. “He has not been arrested.”

Fields, who only played three games last year because of injury, has been selected as the preseason defensive MVP of the Big 12. He is also on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation's top defensive player, and the Walter Camp Award, presented to the nation's best overall player.

Found this comment pretty funny (although not a funny story overall)

Here we go again. Another pathetic attempt by the lamestream media who are trying to take away our guns. They only published half of what Devonte said!

He actually said, "I should blast you, but I won't, because that is a disproportionate response to the situation, and I am a responsible gun owner, as are the great majority of all those who own guns!" before punching her in the face.

I wouldn't be upset if he didn't play against us.

He had something like 10+ sacks and around 20 TFLs last year. He is a beast. I do think we would have been able to neutralize him by running right at him though but it seems like it won't matter.

The year before last he had a monster year. Last year he was injured and only played 3 games.

watch he will be suspended for a few games, we will beat them and then at the end of the year they will say that the Minnesota loss was because Fields wasnt playing.

Who cares as long as we win.

He has been separated from the School. Let me make that as clear as possible not the team, the school. He will remain separated until this is resolved. He cannot be on campus. If found guilty he will be dismissed.

If these allegations are true, then I hope he never plays again. Won't affect the game, TCU was overrated anyway and we were going to win either way.

Now he just needs to marry her, and serve his two game suspension. #NFLHATESWOMEN

So he can't practice or play in home games, but he can play in road games?

had a good chuckle at this. the whole fallout of the rice saga really is pathetic. 4 games for smoking dope and 2 games for beating the hell out a woman. that doesn't quite add up right there. if the NFL is going to try use the mentality of they don't want the players to look like thugs, this was a perfect chance to make an example out of a high profile guy and show that it doesn't matter if you're a star in the league. Instead your # looks far more appropriate

I think they should reduce the marijuana suspension rather than increase the Rice suspension.

Never understood why sports is required to punish people for bad behavior. We have a criminal justice system for that.

Just my opinion.

It's, in my opinion, the same as people are punished in a business for poor behavior (failed drug test at work or arrest in public gets you fired oftentimes) and after all the NFL is a business.

It's not like they have to be connected. I agree that the pot suspension should be decreased, but that doesn't mean the Rice suspension is anymore of a joke. Honestly, if there was any justice in this country Rice wouldn't be able to play, because he'd be spending multiple years in prison. The difference between what he did and murder is really only a 'flip of the coin.' The intent is the same.

Press reports out of Ft. Worth are that he has been booted from team & TCU. Bielema released a statement that he can bring the best out of young men, that "rehabilitation" is his (Bielema's) middle name.

The story says that he is out at TCU period. The speculation is that he doesn't have the time to transfer anywhere.
