TCF Stadium still not official

Love the reader comments. More negative Nelly types like this need to get Gopher Hole accounts:

"I am a 11 year season ticket holder... when I agreed to renew my tickets it was under the impression I would be sitting in section 209 row 6 seat 1/2 in the Metrodome. I am not interested in sitting outside on a bleacher seat in December and want a refund for this game."

This is the same person that eats 2/3 of the White Castle Slider and then sends it back because the onions are rancid.

Now am confused. Is he a tiny person, sitting in half a seat? Or his he enormous, sitting in both seats 1 and 2?

The jokes about the Gopher team and their high school-size football stadium with the long lines, bench seats, long lines, crappy concessions, long lines, and horrific traffic jams are going to be unending. The game will work out fine for the Vikes, but not so much for Viking fans, and the sports media is going to have a field day making the U and Gopher's football the butt of their pathetic jokes for the next 6 or 7 days. Always be careful what you wish for.

More bull$hit from the people who know nothing. Yee Gads. Go Gophers!!!!!!!

I love people like this. The Vikings/U of M are trying to make sure you can see the game. Stop bitching!

Nah, only the dooshbag trolls over here (check post history) and Viking sycophants in the local media will do that. The national media has been full of praise for TCF.

Always and I mean ALWAYS read the Strib with comments blocked. :)

Exactly. The alternative to TCF is to move the game to another city. If people want refunds, that frees up more for people who do want them.

That is why the vikings do not need a outdoor stadium the fans don't wanna sit in the cold!

I and many other people would be happy to purchase that guys ticket for this historic game.....

So TCF Bank Stadium is exactly like every other college stadium in the country?

It's one game. They can get over it. If not then let someone else who wants to go have your ticket. Personally I wouldn't want to sit outside for a game this time of year either but at least I would have the option of going to a close location to see the game. I would like to see a preseason game outside though since it would be early enough to have decent weather.

I don't know how a Vikings fan or the media can be making fun of TCF Bank Stadium with the state of the Metrodome right now.

Yeah, because the Dome is known for it's short lines, wide concourses and awesome concessions right? I would love to be able to go to a Vikings game where half the fans aren't drunk and I don't fear being trampled in the concourse if I happen to slip. Strib commentors will find anything to b!tch about.

howeda7. It took you until now to realize that? Holy Allah Martha.

On the other hand, the Hump Dome does have troughs. Less bathroom wait.

With the added bonus of being splashed on by the guy next to you. I really miss the dome (every chance I get).

I say let that guy have his Metrodome seats for the game on Monday. That's what he paid for so that is what he should get. He never said a word about 'watching football' as he listed his expectations. They could really treat him like royalty and put the game up on the Metrodome's jumbotron. He may not be able to see it through the sunken, deflated dome... but it is the thought that counts.

Did you read the article you linked to? Still not official. All this says is that the U is fine with it, and so is the NFL.

so, let's see, the U is fine with it, the NFL is fine with it, the vikings are fine with it. Hmmmm....I'm guessing the bears don't get a vote, so that leaves what about it as unofficial exactly?

The NFLPA has doubts about the condition of the field. The slickness and hardness are the main concerns.

I don't care what all the fair weather vikes idiots think. Go get sh*t faced and watch some 5* Florida WR get paid millions of dollars to come to Minnesota to play a game in front of a bunch of middle class white people. Then first chance he gets he hops on his private jet to get out of this cold hell he's forced to come to. They don't care about this state. They don't want to be here. If we cut all their pay by 1mill they'd all be gone in a heart beat.

Would it be safe to assume you are not part of that bunch?

It was my understanding They built the stadium with hot water piping under the field for just this sort of eventuality. Was this not done?

Here's a story posted several hours after your post on espn.com:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5922532

I still think they'll play at TCF, and I hope they do, but it doesn't seem to be official at this time, and it certainly wasn't when gopherfan made the post.
