Target is ready for the Gophers

Gold can be tough to come by. I ran all over town looking for a gold t-shirt before Air Force last year. Finally tracked the last fat guy shirt they had at Kohl's.

awesome!

wish I could get a fraction of that down here in TX....unrealistic.

I got a bright gold shirt at Goldy's locker room.

I will never buy a gold shirt, I have literally an entire drawer full of gold student section shirts.

After just 2 years I've got enough gold t-shirts to build a house.

It's good to see Gophers gear be available at more than just stores around the U. The big chains make their buying decisions way up the chain, and often aren't very receptive to the local market. I've been in some stores, and they've had the random college shirts that someone at HQ thought people would want, Florida, Ohio State, etc. Good to see that they can adjust to the local market.

It's beneficial to be able to get Gophers gear all over the state, but it also is benefecial that people see Gophers gear. It helps enhance the statewide perception of the Gophers. More people able to get it means more people will have it. A Gophers t-shirt is a walking billboard for the U.

Has anybody seen Gopher tailgate tents at Target recently? They had them a couple of years ago but I haven't seen them lately.

I think they usually show up in August.

Sad fact is that aisle will probably be replaced with purple once training camp opens up.

Does anyone know if there are plans for another attempt at a "Gold-out"?

I'm sure there will be another Solid Gold Saturday this season. Its seems to be something the U is doing every year now. My guess would be USC, PSU, or Iowa. USC would be the best choice IMO since it will be nice enough for people to wear gold. Once you get to cold weather its not going to happen (think Wisconsin last year). The amount of gold Gopher gear that is a jacket or sweatshirt is even smaller than the amount of gold t-shirts.

I have so much Gophers gear. I even have the striped farmer pants that can be found at Farm and Fleet. I hoping they sell the gold replica jersey.

Agreed, Gold Outs only work in warm weather. Most Gopher T-shirts are gold, everything else is Maroon. I do have a gold Gopher sweater, but they aren't as easy to find. I know there are people who grumble about gold outs, but it really looks impressive when a school gets on the same page for gameday attire. It sends a message that the fans are really serious about their football.

Just got 2 folding chairs, soft can cooler--both only $20--and 4 logo 32 oz. cups ($10). Go gophers!

I was in Target, and they had a pretty good selection of Gophers clothing and gear. But it was in the sporting goods section. Usually, I expect to see that in a part of the clothing section.
