per the Syracuse Post Standard:
The phone call came in as Richard Pitino Jr. was driving home after the Minnesota Golden Gophers' win over Coastal Carolina on Tuesday.
It was late, but the call wasn't unexpected, and the voice was familiar. On the other end was his father, Rick Pitino.
"He watches every game he possibly can,'' Richard Pitino said. "We'll talk later on that night after we've talked to the team and the media. I want him to watch our games. I want him to critique what we're doing bad or what we're doing good. Most coaches won't watch other teams because they're so busy.
"He brags about watching my games and I tell him I've watched about a thousand of your games.''
