Exactly right, MGG. Vegas wants to encourage more money on MN so to achieve that, they change the line, or even the winner. It has nothing to do with them thinking Syracuse is better or worse.

That was last week. Earlier this week, Gophers were at -2.5. The betting changed, so to balance out bets, the line is back to Syracuse -1.
 

At my on-line sportsbook it opened MN -2.5 this week and is not Syracuse -1. I'm guessing the casual bettor started putting money on the Orange when they heard about Gray.

That has nothing to do with betting and Vegas...it is all about where the money is being bet so as to even out $$$.

I just placed a Vegas bet and got minnesota +3.
