What kinds of things are the student section allowed to have?

I noticed the big headed celebrities the Indiana section had. I am not saying this isn't allowed (I assume it is) but what kinds of things can the U of M student section be doing as well to make life more difficult for opponents?

Are vuvuzela's allowed?

Talk to the Athletics department about why we can't bring any of those in. As far as I know we got some sort of "sportsmanship" money thing if we stopped our fans from being decent college sports fans. That's why the band isn't allowed to do anything and why they had those "fan leaders" or whatever when TCF Stadium opened.

If the students were allowed to do stuff like IU they would, but someone up top is stopping it.

Yeah, I am a student and have always wondered why we sometimes seem to be one of the less creative student sections in the league. I liked the Indiana heads. Made it very tough for our FT shooters, it'd be nice to do some things to disrupt other teams instead of only cheering for ours ...

Get creative. Indiana does Big Heads.. You don't need to do Big Heads too. Think of something the Athletic Department hasn't thought of yet. Then they won't know to ban it until after you do it.

Don't plagiarize Indiana. You've done the animals in the Barn. That's good. Maybe you can bring in some road kill for the OSU guys to stare at when they shoot free throws.

I wasn't looking to copy Indiana, I just thought it was creative and we could start to get more creative as well.

I agree with that 100%.

We don't need big heads, we need big stuff. Vikings, oxen, lumbarjacks, walleyes, prairie chickens, etc. We are the land or random giant crap, and the student section should be too.

Ive always wanted to see several jumbo Tubby head giving the infamous Tubby stare swaying back and forth in the student section but lately the students have been quite zombie like when the opponent is shooting freethrows.

Do teams actually shoot a worse FT percentage on the road vs. at home? Is there a cumulative yearly stat available anywhere on that?

I would guess that there is a very small differential from year to year between the home and road numbers, despite all the efforts to change that.

I like that idea. Tubby on a Stick. I think it's 'fair'.;)

Students, just like everyone else, can't bring in big signs or objects
