In a remarkable season, here's hoping Gophers beat the odds again.
After the Minnesota Gophers’ all-too-familiar 42-13 loss to Michigan on Oct. 5, even the football team’s most optimistic fans could not imagine what would transpire over the next four weeks of Big Ten play.
Instead of letting their season spiral out of control, the young and hungry Gophers team went on the road to Evanston, Ill., and upset Northwestern. Head coach Jerry Kill, who had taken a medical leave after another gameday epileptic seizure, missed the Michigan loss. But he surprised the team by making the trip to Evanston and giving them a halftime pep talk.
