STrib: Xcel Energy Center among finalists to host 2015-2018 Frozen Fours

Xcel Energy Center is one of 10 finalists bidding to host a Frozen Four from 2015-2018, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. A winning site will be announced on Dec. 11.

The Gophers are listed as the bid's host institution.

When UMD won it couple years back the place was rocking! Having it at the X is a no-brainer in my opinion.

Have to think that the X is as close to a shoo-in as it gets. Would be absolutely shocked if St. Paul isn't one of the final choices. The question for me is who will get the other three bids.

Believe it or not, Columbus is a nice rink. Good, central location. You can get there from most cities in a day's travel.

This past year they amped up Nationwide is anticipation for the All Star game (only to have it delayed due to the damn lock out). Columbus is ready for a frozen four.
