Trestman may be the greatest "known" quantity in the history of organized football. You tend to get known when you've never held a job for more three years in your 30 year coaching career.

If true, it sounds like Maturi was not interested. My concern with Trestman is that he never is retained by any team beyond 2 years or so and he went several years without any football job at all. The whole pro-Trestman agenda (ahem, savegopherfootball.com) seems blind to the obvious, glaring difficulties with Trestman's resume. Many Trestmanites think it is no problem at all that no other program in the country would consider Trestman for one second for their head coach. Very troubling.
