per Megan:

Fleck said the reaction of his team to all that young potential was a succinct but passionate, “Woohoo!”

“It’s not make-believe,” Fleck said. “You can’t sell something [not true] to a kid ... Not in 2020. It’s got to be real. They’ve got to see it. They’ve got to touch it. They’ve got to feel it. They’ve got to experience it. And they have.”

But no one outside of the Gophers will see that proof anytime soon.

After the Big Ten postponed the fall season last week, the earliest those new players could make an appearance would be for a spring season in 2021.

The Gophers, though, aren’t viewing that as a letdown. Fleck actually considers it a boon.

“The more time we have with them without playing only helps the depth of this team,” Fleck said last week in a video news conference. “And I’m excited about that.”

Go Gophers!!

Read this last night and - while I'd much rather they be playing - I am super psyched to see how much the extra time helps the young guys from an S&C perspective and overall with getting comfortable with the system/playbook.

Another benefit is more time for Sanford to get his offense installed.

I trust PJ and staff to get the most out of this situation!

What Fleck sees for the Gophers should also be true for the competition the Gophers will face. There is a potential for a number of high quality teams playing each other in 2021. It could be one of the great football seasons of all time in the Big Ten.

You have given me hope

This is the silver lining for our Gophers. We have a few hot stuff recruits who could've been serious contributors to this season.....but because of the the COVID delay never got the spring ball, practices and implementing the playbook that could've really helped them. Perhaps this delay to a spring season will give them that edge.

What about the incoming freshman who arrive in January? Typically we have 6-8 early enrollees. Would they be eligible to play in the spring Big ten season?

They are part of the 2021 recruiting class.

Until the college football season blows up in the faces of the conferences playing the biggest threats to Pac12 and BIG team are teams from playing conference poaching committed but not signed ecruitswho want to play now.
I do not know how the transfer portal works in these conditions but psycho Kifflin is urging the NCAA to allow all non playing people to transfer.

I have not always been the biggest Fleck fan - but I will say this;

Instead of bitching and moaning about the B1G decision or pointing fingers, he is trying to emphasize the positive and identify benefits that may be realized from the current situation.

It wouldn't hurt some people to try and adopt that approach. (and I include myself in that statement)
