STrib Miller Blog - Kill's past is packed with coach's fans

For those concerned about his recruiting ability:

Within a few months, Kowayczyk said, "I couldn't believe the recruits Jerry was able to get. He could sell the program like nobody I had ever seen."

Hard to second guess this hire at this point. I am excited for Minnesota.

I second this. I was completely po'd when the hire was announced. After reading about the guy, I'm more confident for the future than I've ever been. I was doubtful when Mason got hired because his record at Kansas wasn't that great, in my opinion, and just the way he handle the whole Georgia job was ridiculous, but I got on board. Kill has shown throughout his career that he can win and do so consistently. The two things I like about his record are he rarely loses home games and outside of a handful of games, his teams are in every game to the end. I firmly believe we'll be bowling next year at this time.

Kill puts up some wins fairly quickly.. Inherited a 2-10 N. Illinois team and took them bowling his first year with a 6-6 record.
