per Joe:

I got my first look at Gophers freshman quarterback Demry Croft at today's first practice, and he looks all of the 6-5, 200 pounds that he's listed at on the roster.

Croft showed good arm strength and a tight spiral, but you could tell he's got a lot to learn. He stumbled at times, but he also threaded the needle between multiple defenders on a nifty pas to EJ Sardinha.

"The young rookie -- he doesn’t say much," coach Jerry Kill said. "If I said somebody that didn’t say much reminds me of Teddy Bridgewater, I hope he turns out as good as that. If something doesn't go right, he just [stays calm]. He’s got the personality that you want. He isn't worried about too many things."

Go Gophers!!

That second-team O-Line is not half bad. Depth on this team is definitely the best it's been under Kill - maybe the best it's been in a long, long time.

Who is 2nd team?
Limegrover says he has eight O-Linemen that could start so the three that aren't starters add two backups and your pretty good two deep. One of the backups is probably Foster Bush.

Surprised Hayes is behind Moore and isn't even on the two deeps. Also wonder if they'll put Jon C back at center and have Bjorklund starting at LG which I prefer a little more.

Based on everything Kill and Claeys have said they are really excited about Brian Bobek playing center. That means that Jon Christenson will be playing guard. Claeys and Kill believe that by moving Joshua Campion and Jon Christenson to guard our pass protection will be improved. In 2014 our guards were being pushed back into pocket making it more difficult for the QB to pass.

Who is 2nd team?

First-team O-line: LT Ben Lauer, LG Jon Christenson, C Brian Bobek, RG Josh Campion, RT Jonah Pirsig.

Second-team O-line: LT Alex Mayes, LG Joe Bjorklund, C Connor Mayes, RG Tyler Moore, RT Foster Bush.

That is a really promising 2 deep OL LINE-UP. What a great improvement over 5 years ago.

Killjoy, did you mean Limegrover? Why would Claeys be commenting on offense?
