In the last two games, Minnesota has allowed its most three-pointers and its second most three-pointers in team history. That’s 33 long balls in all in games that – other than the defensive rebounding effort – the Gophers played fairly well overall.

Following the Indiana game, it was easy to think that a hot night for the conference’s best three-point shooting team simply got the best of Minnesota. An anomaly.

After watching the film, coach Richard Pitino told the media he thought 12 of the 18 connections were properly contested. Fine. Fair enough.

Reason for giving up 33 three's in 2 games: combination of bad defense and bad luck. I'm guessing if you put these teams out there unguarded and give them 32 three's they won't make any more than Indiana and NW have. Indiana was just unconscious, NW was just bad defense.

I understand sometimes a team just gets hot from long range. Indiana made some tough shots, good for them. The 3 point defense was unacceptably bad against Northwestern. Their student managers would have shot a respectable 3 point % against us with the amount of time we gave their shooters. Even the hot dog venders would have been able to drain a few with the looks the Wildcats were getting.
