• Is Tracy Claeys the long-term answer as Gophers football coach? Jerry Kill’s sudden retirement in October pushed Claeys into the spotlight as Gophers head coach, a position he gained on a permanent basis shortly thereafter. But he was given a three-year contract, which in reality is a one-year audition. If he takes advantage of a favorable schedule in 2016 and leads the Gophers to a strong bounceback year, the job could be his for a long time. If not, he very well could be gone.

Go Gophers!!

Well, the strib is trying to step up the accountability process and standards. The U has a chance to replace a football coach after only one season. Or, at least the damn strib is already trying to "plant that seed..."

What are those "stribites" trying to sell over there now? What are you smoking stribies? Do they say how many Big Ten Games TC has to win to get a 2nd season? Will it be MORE conference wins than the third year Men's Hoops Coach has to win? He got a raise after his efforts last year.

Here is the deal: TC has a 3 year deal that will turn into a five or six year deal at more money than he currently is earning after what ever season he turns in during the first full season of his employment...as LONG as he does not do a Brewster impersonation and go winless in Big Ten Play his first season. That would mean that an 0-9 Big Ten record in his first full season MIGHT tempt the U of M prexy to make TC a "...gone guy..." at the end of the season. But, he has already won a Big Ten Game against Illinois...to go along with the four Big Ten wins he secured as acting head coach in 2013...PLUS he personally coached a bowl win that ended a 7 game bowl loss string for the Gopher Football Program. TC will be here at the end of the 2016 season with full five year contract plus a nice pay increase with a hefty incentive clause sitting in his safe deposit box. TC will be at the U for a LONG time, strib people. Take that to the BANK!

Look: even Dick Pitino is STILL here.
