Minnesota freshman quarterback Chris Streveler was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his 161-yard rushing performance in a 24-7 win against San Jose State on Saturday. He shares the honor with Indiana linebacker Tegray Scales.

Streveler’s 161 rushing yards are the third-most every by a Gopher quarterback. Former Minnesota quarterback and current Minnesota Viking tight end Marqueis Gray ran for a school record 171 yards against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 17, 2011. Gray also rushed for 167 yards versus Illinois on Nov. 26, 2011.
