for a conference victory against an unranked opponent?

Its just like the last Vikes TD. If you don't like it stop it. In this case it was beat a team that isn't good enough to go to the NIT.

The announcers final message to the Michigan fans storming the court at the end of their game: "Whatever!"

It was the perfect way to verbalize how lame it really was. The Indiana fans storming the court was even more puzzling.

Iowa fans stormed the court on Saturday too

After beating Penn State. Not surprised you didn't notice because there were only about 25 people milling around near half court, so it was hard to tell. :)

Agreed. Storming the court was embarrassing. Bob Knight must have barfed when he saw that.

I was irritated enough by the IU courtstorming that I had to post a blog entry on it.

That and my utter annoyance with Verdell Jones.

We could always go back to the 'old days'.

"1929 It has become common practice to surround the court with a suspended wire basket or cage to keep the ball and players inbound - players often come off after a game with chain-link marks on their skin. Naismith's original rules stated that the first player to get to the out-of-bounds ball gained possession. This had led to mayhem and the first answer was the cage. In 1929 this is abandoned and replaced with the simple side-line throw, although basketball players will still be called "cagers" for many years".

"Cager
A basketball player; derived from the days when a wire mesh barrier surrounded the court to protect the fans from the players and vice versa".

With the tradition IU basketball has, any true Indiana fan should be embarrassed that their fans stormed the court vs. a 12-6, 3-3 Minnesota basketball team.
