Came up with some gems last night. With 1:40 left in first half and score 40-15:

"If the Gophers can cut the lead to about 10 by half they will be right back in this game".

How many times did he say "Wow, what an unbelievable outlet pass" as a MSU player grabs a rebound and throws a 20 foot pass to a guard with no defender around.

BTT Analysts

I think the analysts the BTT uses are very weak in their "analysis" of most Big Ten games. The guy from Northwester (the big guy) is pretty good but generally most are below average. They know to play but doesn't always equate to knowledge of the game as it relates to speaking of strategy, zone versus man-to-man, coaching moves, usage of bench players, etc..

Jim Dutcher was a great example of a good analyst. He obviously knew the game and what was needed to do to win a game. Too bad the BTT doesn't use more ex-coaches.

I often mute my tv when watching these games. It's more informative that way.

Mute Wayne Larrivee .. he's so awful he's beginning to sound like Mike Patrick. The BTN really has some poor announcers. Gus Johnson is the only one who I look forward to listening to....

Last night's play-by-play guy was atrocious and in the tank for the Spartans from the beginning.

LOL... o come on!!I thought considering the circumstances, they did an alright job. Did you really expect them to talk about how much ralph and colton have improved when they hadn't scored inthe first 30 min?? Such a lopsided game you really can't say much about the team getting beat.

I felt like I was listening to him and the Spartans have sex all night.

Kind of like listening to Chris Burman broadcast last years Home Run Derby when Josh Hamilton was at the plate....I need a shower.

He wasn't good. Trent Tucker's not great, but much better then Smith was. Bremer and Dutcher made a great team, I miss them, even if one can get Bremer overload after watching a 100 Twins games. I know Dutcher's big issue was not wanting to travel. Why don't they just get the best color guy they can in each city and let them only do home games? It would save on travel and increase the talent level. Then all they would need is 4-5 competant play-by-play guys and they'd be halfway decent. Too bad they only have 2 at the most right now.

GHfan,

>>Such a lopsided game you really can't say much about the team getting beat.<<

It's not so much what they said as how they said it. They were wetting themselves each time the Spartans touched the ball. I hope their green cheerleading skirts weren't ruined.

Well, everyone has their own opinion I guess... I'm not saying Smith or Larivee are any good, I just thought they did an average job. Not good, but not as bad as yall are saying. So much complaining, but not one example brought up by anyone but Les...and the first of his two examples isn't even what you are complaining about.
