I am no insider or coaching expert, but it appears to me we are starting to see a series of signs leading up to a coaching announcement this week.

First, we see a blanket announcement listing many of the most talked about names ALL indicating they are "not interested" in the Gopher job, all at about the same time. It seems really odd that after a month and a half of having their names associated with the opening, they all pretty much decide at the same moment that they are not interested?

Next, we see an annoucement that social media will be used to announce the coach. You don't have to read between the lines to wonder why they'd suggest this and then wait several weeks to make the announcement.

hmmmmmm

It does seem more then coincidence. My problem is with all the websites better know and more directly tied with the school and college football, why leak something (whether intentionally or not) through a site most people have never heard of? Stands to reason there might be a more legitimate way to let the also rans off the hook.

Also about an hour ago the U released thissaying that the U coaching search will be first announced via twitter and facebook.

Could just be a vain attempt to get more followers or people to 'like' the Athletic department. But it seems like they wouldn't roll something like that out if they didn't have some idea when they would be announcing the hire.

EDIT: Sorry I just saw the (currently two page long) thread about this link.
