I understand goldys locker room at the stadium is selling bench seat cushions. Has anyone bought one of these and if so how much are they. They are sold out of the seat back cushions for rent.

They cost $20.
 

At Goldy's locker Room there are actually two types of cushions for sale. There is a cheapo gold one that is about 10$ (my memory on prices aren't exact so don't quote me). There is also a better maroon one (with a strap to lock it down on the bench, and a flap containing a cup holder and other storage) that sells for around $20. I have two of the more expensive ones and they are nice. They also appear to be a good vehicle for getting your flask into the stadium. :)

I bought two cushions a couple of years ago just for the new stadium. Then I read that cushions weren't going to be allowed in the stadium. Then I read that Goldy's Locker room is selling them. Does anyone know what gives here?

Everything that I've read from the university says you cannot bring your own in. I doubt they will let you bring them in even if you buy them from Goldy's Locker.

Cushions are fine, seat backs are not.
 




Does anyone know the seat back company website or contact information? I had ordered mine a few days before the scrimmage and they weren't up, I just wanted to verify with them that they will be installed.

The stipulation is that you can't bring a chair in that has metal. So you could bring in something that has a back, but it would have to be one of those that are held together with straps. I personally think I'd rather sit on the bench than one of those.

Correct! For some reason there is a lot of confusion over this. seatBACKS are not allowed. Seat cushions ARE allowed. We used the ones we purchased at Goldy's at the open house on Aug 22.

I noticed from the web cam that there is a TON more rented seat backs in the corners now. A lot of people must have thought they were a good idea after seeing them at the open house, or just took their time ordering them. We have them on two of our seats and we liked them a lot.

Ordered mine just after the scrimmage and they were up 2 days later.
 


Related tangent...As of yesterday the seatbacks were sold out for the season.
 

Why would they put a limit on the number of seatbacks?

Um yea...not so much. I was hoping that the flyover might distract you from the cold metal bench under your butt. Looks like we'll be toughing it out this season. :)

As for why they would be out of them already, I have no idea. I sent that q to the Ticket Office yesterday. We'll see what comes of it.
 

I totally understand the rule about not being able to bring in seat backs from off the street. With my luck, I would be sandwiched between two guys with huge seatbacks and there I am stuck in the middle!

I heard the company was done accepting orders once the season got started. Must be some labor, manufacturing, or logistical reason. I doubt they'd put a silly cap on a revenue stream.
 

My seatbacks were not in at the scrimmage. Girl at company booth told me ALL would be installed for Air Force game....I sat in one at the scrimmage for about a quarter. They are quite comfortable. I was happily surprised.
 

Went to TCF stadium and bought the $20.00 cushions, they seem really nice can't wait to try them out. I talked to ticket office before I went and they said NO seatback cushions period only seat cushions w/o backs. Beware, the store does have some layover seatback chair cushions without the metal frame that they recieved from another store, the stadium will not allow them. There are 20 or so of the cushions left so in my opinion anyone thinking of getting one should go to the stadium store before this weekend.

I am pretty sure during the scrimmage they were trying to sell these over the loud speaker. I think you'll be able to get them in the game.
 

Before I picked out my seats, I showed the ticket office a nonmetal flexible back seat and they said it was not acceptible, only seat cushions would be allowed.
