After reading some of the posts on this board, I've come to the conclusion that the Gophers are totally wasting Spring practice with all of this competition nonsense. All Brewster needs to do is read this board, and he'll find plenty of posters telling him who should play and who shouldn't. Has a player gotten stronger in the weight room, gotten more comfortable with the playbook, really improved his technique? It doesn't matter! Players should always be judged on how they looked last year because it's common sense to know that they'll never get better. Take the poster child for this train of thought - Adam Weber. He stunk last year, so why bother with him anymore? It shouldn't matter if he can prove himself to be the best qb this Spring. Of course, Gray has fumbled in the past, so we might as well forget him as well. The same goes for all the other players who were given their shot at greatness and fell short. It's our job as loyal fans to dump on them and move on to the next shiny object. Sure, play the best players, but determine this by past performance only.
