SportingNews: New coach should reverse Gophers' fortunes

"Athletic director Joel Maturi made maybe this coaching cycle’s best hire by luring Jerry Kill away from Northern Illinois."

High praise. Kill might never make the Gophers a Rose Bowl contender, but I believe his teams will be competitive in time. I would expect that Kill's teams will at least show signs of competent coaching, i.e., improvement, something that was sorely missing during the Brewster debacle.

An interesting article. We're going to have some patience though...as the author notes, the LEGENDS Division is loaded. But it will really be nice to attend a game this year with some confidence in the coaches coaching ability. Just cleaning up the stupid mistakes, the penalties, etc. and watching a more disciplined and well coached team will be much more enjoyable. And of course, it will really be nice to see a new offense. But the other teams are not going to roll over and play dead and of course it's another "Rose bowl for a Dakota school". Looking forward AGAIN to attending the Gophers game this fall!!!

I cant wait to see MG at quarterback this year. I think he might be able to win us a few upsets this year

Im gonna try and make a trip to Southern California this year to watch the game
