How come this program can't rise above mediocrity? Are they cursed just like the Gophers?

Toughest conference by far ... they did go to the Outback Bowl last year, but certainly w/ Spurrier they have underachieved ... Happy Thanksgiving Brian, and tell Gulia the same.

No kidding....the most amazing thing about their underachieving is, how the hell can Steve Spurrier not land a decent quarterback? Unlike our situation, most of the other pieces are in place for them.

As a Gopher fan and alum of South Carolina I have thought the same. A few coaches have been at both places Holtz (twice at SC), Gutey, Tom Gadd, Tubby, Ray Jones (a former Clem asst) ... more? There is an old tale that a former president of Clemson put a "chicken curse" on South Carolina, some really believe in it. Who put the curse on the Gophers? http://www.tigermemories.com/page.php?12

See they beat No.15 Clemson today. They're better than us.

They upset their rival ... Miss. St. upset its rival ... NC St upset its rival (3 straight wins vs. UNC) ... am I asking for much when I say it would be nice if the Gophers could beat Wisconsin (were favored this year) or Iowa?

The Gamecocks biggest problem is having to play Georgia, Tennessee and Florida every season. There are not too many teams up for that task.

No doubt they're better. Seems to me with the last two coaches they have hired, they are trying to get to the next level and can't.(Holtz did have 2 nice years.) They also have good fan support and are the only ticket in town. They should have never joined the SEC. I feel their pain.
