Per Doug:

Sources tell FootballScoop that veteran offensive line coach Matt Limegrover is stepping away from his role at Kent State.

Limegrover joined Kenni Burns' staff back in January of 2023 as run game coordinator and offensive line coach.

At 56-years old coaching veteran, Limegrover has coached at nearly every level of college football, starting at the University of Chicago (D-III - IL), and spanning to Ferris State (D-II - MI), Emporia State (D-II - KS) and Southern Illinois (FCS).

It was at Emporia State that he united with Jerry Kill, shadowing Kill's moves to Southern Illinois, Northern Illinois, and Minnesota as his longtime loyal assistant at each stop from 1999-2015.

In 2016 he took the offensive line job at Penn State, where he spent a few seasons as run game coordinator and offensive line coach before his journey took him to Michigan (as an analyst) and then Arkansas State as offensive line coach, then tight ends coach before landing at Kent State.

Multiple sources have shared that Limegrover is open to an analyst role at a Power Four institution.

Go Gophers!!

Kent State had a rough year, as in 0-12 rough.

Kenni Burns is 1-23 in his 2 years as a head coach there.

Not a great start to the PJ Fleck head coaching tree.

Flashes are only drawing about 5,000 fans for each home game and were only within 19 points in one MAC game vs. 3-9 Ball State.

Lost to Tennessee and Penn State by a combined 127-0
