the buzz around Williams tonight is that Mullen will be named head coach in the next 48 hours. I was in the club suite area before the game with quite a few boosters (I am not one, but was with a few tonight) and that seemed to be the consensus. i think we'll agree that this would be a great hire. looking forward to the official announcement.
 

I hope this is true! I think he is a great fit and he will energize this program.

in all honesty, if this really happens, I will never say a bad word about Maturi again. i just thought Mullen was out of our league.

no offense taken. i debated even posting it but there was a definite buzz at williams tonight with people who donate some bucks and it was all about mullen.
 

Count me as super "pumped" if this is true as Tipsy would say

He was definitely one of the guys I was "hoping" for and wishing would be interested.
Maybe the "worm" turned Saturday and we for once are starting to get lucky. Positive things seem to be in our future as fan's.
 

Mullen, to me, would be the 100% grand slam I've been waiting for.
 



I've been praising God 24/7, so he's bound to reward me with Dan Mullen as the new man for the Gophers. Take that, Steve Johnson.

This is a legitimate "football coach" folks

Maturi and Mona will have hit pay dirt if Mullen is the "real" guy. The players, fans everyone should be excited well except Brewster and existing staff. The mojo from Saturday is growing. He will not be tough to sell people, I predict are going to like this coach. Watch his team if you can they play hard and play "up".
 

Wasn't excited before I learned more about him but I do believe a Urban Meyer protege will open some eyes around the Big Ten & spark some fear in a few coaches...

There are also Mullen to Miami rumors. Any legs to those? Gosh, I'm nervous. I may not sleep for the next 48 hours. I certainly hope it doesn't take longer...

Just looked at Mullen's page on Wikipedia, someone changed it to include coaching Gophers in 2011.
 

A couple days ago it was Hoke's job if he wanted it. Yesterday Edsall was the front runner. Today Fedora was rumored to be in town. Now Mullen is the guy. I would love to hire Mullen more than any of the other realistic candidates. I just can't wait for this whole process to be over.
 

He's my number 1 choice but I'm not going to hold my breath. Regardless of who we hire, I hope it's announced tomorrow. I can't stand the wait any longer.
 

Please make the announcement quick!

I really dont want Miami to snag him up....Seems like a legit coach who has learned from the best...
