I always found that to be the biggest flaw in the RPI. It virtually guarantees a big conference team a decent RPI. On the flip side, wiscy is pretty comparable to the gophs. If not for the SOS advantage in the RPI we'd look much better, and we're not. There will always be quirks to any system, but in the end it does seem that most teams are ranked pretty close to where they should be.
