Oldtimer1 hasn't posted for many years. He had great war stories, Gopher stories, girl stories, etc. I remember him writing that he was in his late 70's years ago. He was a sportswriter for a California newspaper. I believe his name is Gene Earl. Is that right? If I recall, SwiftCountyGo4 had contact with him, but I haven't seen him post for years, at least under that name.

Maybe he has put in a good word for us and that is why this year has been somewhat of the surprise it has been. Oldtimer1 had a passion for the Gophers and had some good story's.
Keep looking out for the Gophers Mr. Earl RIP
