Taking a closer look at the season, I find some hope for the Gophers. Iowa comes to Minneapolis playing its second away game. And are going into a bye. An early loss to Iowa State could make Floyd ours.
And how about following Floyd with a chance at the Jug. Homecoming at Ann Arbor. Michigan with its early test against Notre Dame will be coming into the game off a bye. They will face Penn State at Happy Valley the following week. The Gophers will have a bye following this game. Can the Gophers come home with Both Trophies in hand and sporting a 6-0 record? The week off will come at great time.

Off the bye we travel to Northwestern. They will be coming off games against OSU and Wisconsin. We need to be physical and this will make or break the season for either team. I would love to be 7-0. Nebraska comes to TCF and I cannot see us beating them. Next we are on to Indiana. The Hoosiers will be coming off PSU, MSU, and Michigan. Again pound the rock, be physical it should be a win. 8-1. Penn State at TCF off Michigan, OSU, and Illinois. I don't think PSU has the depth, to beat us at this time of the season. And we should go all out as we get another bye.

The last two are Wisconsin here. They play another soft preseason, and throw in BYU mid year. This could be a battle for not only the AXE but also a share of the Western Conference. Are we due? And the final at Michigan State. 9-3? 10-2?

As you can see the glass is overflowing.

Love the enthusiasm!
We don't need help IMO to beat Iowa at home. That's a game we need to win from now on, maybe not at Kinnick, but at home we need to expect to win.
I gotta say the NW game off a bye and them coming in off OSU and wisky could be a trap game in our favor. The Indiana game late in the season coming off those games might favor us too, especially if their young team gets worn out.
I can't see us going into the Big House and winning, nor beating Neb.
PSU's depth will be tested, that may be the wildcard of the conference. At some point in the next few seasons we'll see their scholarship limits lose them a game or 2 they normally would roll.
I'm not ready to predict anything yet, but I expect a signature win this season, some upset that will turn at least a few heads.

Northwetern has a very difficult offense to prepare for getting them after a bye is a big plus. Michigan has to replace the interior of their offensive line getting them early is a plus.

I had that dream last night too! Then in my next dream I was 16 years old and Cindy Crawford was my 18 year old babysitter and she wanted me! Then I woke up and went to the bathroom and fell asleep on the stool and dreamed I was Mario Andretti (you should have heard the noises my car was making!) I crashed my car (fell off the toilet) and went back to bed, then I dreamed that it was 300 years ago and I was the king of Hawaii. Then it was morning and I came back to reality.

I'm hanging my hat on 7 wins. I would be ecstatic over 8.

In my dream, the Gophs humilate Iowa - 83-0. In reality, I'll take a win by any score.

Seriously, let's not get too giddy. This is a young team, and likely will have some ups and downs during the season. If they go 7-5 and qualify for a bowl game, that would be another small step forward. 8-4 would be a bigger step forward. In all honesty, I think 9 wins is a pipe dream. If it happens, great - but I would not bet any of my own money on it.

I completely agree with this part of the statement and I apply to each and every game. I don't care if we win by just 1 point, but I do care that when we lose (if we must, and I don't see why we must ever!), that we keep it respectable.
