Why do people spend their time tracking down records on these guys, have you nothing better to do with your time?

I wouldn't do it, but I appreciate the effort of others. Why post on a gopher football board if you don't care about who is on the team?

It's just a little creepy to be e-stalking some 19-22 year olds.

There's still on the updated roster.
If they come off of that, then I'll panic.

So says the man woth over 1,300 posts on the Gopherhole. I am assuming posts like the one that kicked off this thread are the very reason you are on this board.

How is typing names into a public database that's accessible to anyone in the free world "creepy"? And why is it creepy if it's 19-22 year olds? They are adults and well past the age of consent in every state. I am 30 years old and my name is in the directory because I am a U employee. Is it less creepy to look me up because I can run for U.S. Senator and these players cannot?

If it were in any way even remotely inappropriate or unethical, the U wouldn't provide free worldwide access to any chimp with an ISP and a keyboard.

And if they don't wanna be seen on there, they have the right to remove themselves, it is an option we're given somewhere in the account setup stuff. Do I find it odd to spend the 5 minutes doing it? Perhaps, but it's also why I love this board, because of the stupid crap people will do to find info........like tracking a flight and going to the airport to see who gets off of it LOL :D

Right. It turns out to be very useful when doing things like group projects with people you don't know at the U. If you need to email someone but don't know their email address, you can find it in seconds.

It is very unlikely guys that are going to be seniors would leave voluntarily. This would include Edwards, Stoudermire, Lair, and Eure. Also, none of them are currently predicted to be draft picks in "the league". They may be in the future if they have a strong year this coming season. Regarding the other guys, besides Tatum, I wouldn't be too surprised to see Wright leave considering the difficulty he has had to date and we all know the Hageman issues. Glad to see Carter not on that list.

hageman is in school according to, you guessed it, Sid! Along with Michael Carter as well this semester I believe. It's on another thread...

I'm pretty sure you need to be a student in order to access that search function, so he's obviously still on winter break...I just watch reruns of the shore all day.

I'm positive that you don't need any qualifications other than knowing how a computer and the internet work.

Yea, dp is totally right here. You can search anyone off of One Stop. Took me 3 clicks to get there.

For those of you that don't know, this is Patherhawk...ignore the angst.

I'm not PantherHawk and this still gives me angst

And I admit to using onestop to investigate some earlier attrition rumors. Hardly creepy.

All I have to say is that if half of those kids don't show up in spring ball this season might be less watchable than last.

Spencer Reeves and Ra'Shede Hageman are now registered for Spring 2011. I'm guessing it isn't too uncommon to have some students who don't register right away, and it is probably more commonplace among athletes. That in conjunction with some expected attrition due to a coaching change, and I'm not really surprised.

I sure hope you guys don't figure out I haven't been registered for classes since Spring 2004.
