With the story that came out yesterday in Strib about buy outs and the like, I think that is why no coach has been named at MN or any of the other schools. That along with the added pressure of Board of Regents and Presidents wanting a say in the process. AD's seemed to be able to go get their guy in the past. This no longer is happening. Seems like every school with an opening is having a formal search with added scrutiny about the Bottom Line of their athletic department. I can't imagine we will have a coach hired before Monday, unless Miami hires one first.

Other factors...

I think the U has had their guy in mind for a while.

There are 40 schools playing this weekend and next, including Connecticut, No. Illinois, Arizona, and Navy. For all we know, the real guy is coaching one of these 40 teams.

The coach could also be awaiting his current team's bowl bid before resigning. He may realize his resignation could affect the bid.

I think Monday/Tuesday is spot-on.
