With a large loud crowd on hand, at least I hope so, will this finally get going? I love the idea but do they have to announce they are doing it. It seems so forced. Do we always have to be told what to do?

This chant works as well as our gold-outs do. Let it go - won't happen.

How can many of the schools in the B1G have an easy and loud cheer (that seems to be spontaneous) and yet, we struggle with Ski-U-Mah? Are we expecting the whole stadium to yell all three parts or are we giving each of the three sections a part (students get U)? Even Iowa and OSU can do a four part cheer.

No kidding. Even if people wanted to participate, which a lot of people apparently don't, many people aren't even in their seats yet.

I remember when they first tried it back in 09 and it was a complete disaster. No one knew what the hell was going on. I've been to two games this year and it has a ways to go but it is MUCH better. It's not natural yet but the crowd was somewhat loud. I like and believe that if they stick with it, it will eventually become second nature to the fans.

They should do it more than once a game. I've only seen it once and I've always been in my seat by kickoff.

I feel this would be better coming out after half when all the people are at the stadium. before the game it still seems forced and just oddly done.

I wish the cheer/band would use "SKI U MAH" on the band cheers instead of "Go Big Gold" which is so painfully generic. Why are we using some lame 3 syllable chant that everyone uses, when we have an amazing unique one sitting on the shelf?

I LOVE THIS!! Seriously, are there still band members on this site? They should pass it along

This actually makes a whole lot of sense.

Agree on the band/cheerleaders doing Ski-U-Mah vs Go Big Gold. Makes too much sense.

I disagree they should nix the SUM flag cheer. I don't think we should pull an Iowa or OSU and do it after every TD, but maybe between each quarter (like the minute leading up to kickoff or starting back up). Simple to remember, happens frequently enough to make people remember it's "a thing," and gets the crowd ready to go before play resumes. Also, likely that you'd hear it on tv when they come back from commercials. Good for branding the experience at TCF.

It's a good idea, poorly conceived. Using the PA announcer to get the crowd going with a chant like this looks so amateurish. The Nebraska fans around us gave us a bit of a "Really?" look last weekend.

To me, this is the perfect chant to get going after we score. Play the Rouser after the actual points are scored just like is currently done and then get the Ski-U-Mah chant going for the kickoff.
