Given the large/fertile recruiting footprint the state of Illinois has in basketball, the possibility of Shaka Smart rolling in to Champaign-Urbana is not good news for the Gophs. If he is hired there I would expect him to bring in some very highly rated classes.

I'd be very interested to see if Shaka's/VCU's style of ball could translate over the course of a full B1G season. Everyone likes to run & press and talk about running & pressing, but it's easier said than done when dealing with B1G coaches/defenses. Even Tom Izzo, who would prefer to play much more up-tempo, most of the time has to beat teams in the half court during conference play. And we've all seen how successful the Gophers have been becoming a running & pressing team, also Tubby's preference.
