Yes! 260 pounds. There is our banger. That's a good get.
Hoping for the best but this one doesn't particularly excite me - pedestrian stats and poor free throw shooting (ala Frank Mitchell?). I'm cautiously optimistic about the portal pickups so far, but I would remind folks that we were mostly excited about the portal additions last year as well (Mitchell, Edmonds, Odukale, Rigsby, Patterson and Cochran). It's a crapshoot especially when you're talking about a step-up in competition from a mid-major to the Big Ten.Not in my top 2 or 3 for most preferred uncommitted center targets but the pickings are fairly slim right now and he'll definitely do! Welcome Robert!
Yes. 64% FT last year vs Frank at 43%. He will be on the court more and can help at end of games. Frank only averaged 15.6 minutes for us. This guy will do better.I'll take a signing, but is he any better than Frank Mitchell?
Frank Mitchell was like 42% from the line at Canisius, this guy is 67%. Solid enough for a big man.Hoping for the best but this one doesn't particularly excite me - pedestrian stats and poor free throw shooting (ala Frank Mitchell?).
Watched a few highlights, looks like a decent passer and definitely more skill around the basket than Frank.I'll take a signing, but is he any better than Frank Mitchell?

I'd also like to remind you that we were making comments about assembling the worst ft shooting team of all time. 64% for a Center is not a terrible free throw %. 43% like Frank means you are unplayable at times which is part of the reasons he didn't get many minutes (shoulder injury took him out of the beginning).Hoping for the best but this one doesn't particularly excite me - pedestrian stats and poor free throw shooting (ala Frank Mitchell?). Combined.....LOL64% that might be better than our team average the last four years
He'd have been the technical foul shooter on Ben's teams.64% that might be better than our team average the last four years
Word. IIRC, John Thomas shot in the 60s (and he calmly knocked down two against Illinois to win the Big Ten clincher at the BarnI'd also like to remind you that we were making comments about assembling the worst ft shooting team of all time. 64% for a Center is not a terrible free throw %. 43% like Frank means you are unplayable at times which is part of the reasons he didn't get many minutes (shoulder injury took him out of the beginning).
Compare stats from SO to JR yr. Lots of improvements.Hoping for the best but this one doesn't particularly excite me - pedestrian stats and poor free throw shooting (ala Frank Mitchell?). Better FT shooter than Femi, Fox, Mitchell, Asuma, Edmuds and Betts.....just sayin'Hoping for the best but this one doesn't particularly excite me - pedestrian stats and poor free throw shooting (ala Frank Mitchell?). He has improved each year. He started at 35% then into the 50's and now at 64%- perhaps he can be a 70% FT shooter. One thing I saw in his highlights were some pretty nifty passing to cutters.I'd also like to remind you that we were making comments about assembling the worst ft shooting team of all time. 64% for a Center is not a terrible free throw %. 43% like Frank means you are unplayable at times which is part of the reasons he didn't get many minutes (shoulder injury took him out of the beginning).
That Final 4 team was not a good FT shooting team. Just 67.9% which is barely higher than this year's 66.4% team.Word. IIRC, John Thomas shot in the 60s (and he calmly knocked down two against Illinois to win the Big Ten clincher at the Barn).
