...we've averaged 222.5 yards rushing per game (slightly better than our 218.5 average!)
...we've gone for 198.3 yards passing per game (WAY up from our 149.4 season average!)

If our last four games' averages were laid out over the entire season (to date)...

...we'd rank 20th in rushing yards per game (current rank: 20)
...we'd rank 94th in passing yards per game (current rank: 116)
...we'd rank 58th in total offense per game (current rank: 93)
...David Cobb would be the #4 rusher in the country with 1,278 yards (current rank: 23); he would be the leading rusher in the B1G
...Philip Nelson would have the #5 pass efficiency rating in the entire country at 180.73 (current rank: 46); he would be the leader in pass efficiency in the B1G

Just a little stats to go along with our offensive improvement. Love it!

That 4 game stretch includes the 5th, 8th, 9th, and 12th ranked scoring defenses in the Big Ten. 6th, 8th, 9th, and 12th in total defense. 5th, 7th, 11th, and 12th passing defenses.

Indiana is 119th out of 125 FBS teams in passing yards allowed per game. Northwestern is 98th. Penn State is 68th.

Beware small sample sizes.

Might not be optimistic but it doesn't make him wrong. We have played some bad defenses during the winning streak, doesn't take anything from the winning streak or make the accomplishment any less impressive but it needs to be taken into consideration when looking at the offensive performance the last 4 weeks. Things are going to be a whole lot tougher over the final 2 when we face off against the two defenses that rank at or near the top in most defensive categories during conference games.

If you look at the conference only stats the Gophers are situated right in the middle of the pack in most offensive and defensive categories which is not a bad place to be considering the recent history of the program.

The last four W's have been fantastic. I didn't see it coming and was hoping we could somehow go 2-2 during that stretch.

Said that, the combined BIG record of the teams we have beat is 8-11 and the Huskers are 4-1 so the other three are 4-10. But the guys have played and beat them as they were scheduled during that time which is something we haven't done in 40 years!!

Now the competition gets a whole lot better and the Gophers must amp it up, especially against the run. Not sure if we can expect any more from the ST play, especially what we saw against PSU. But we must improve against the run, continue to pass better, make some huge plays on D, take care of the ball and play smart.

Bend not break and play very tough in the red zone could be the key. Wisky will get its yards but holding them to 3 versus 7 could go a long way. IMO, we have to hold them under 24 which is asking a lot. But, this team has surprised us all recently.
