Al Nolen was injured against Michigan on January 22nd, 2011. We beat Michigan and were ranked #16 in the country. Michigan fell to 1-6 in the Big Ten. Since then, both Minnesota and Michigan have played 44 Big Ten games (reg season and BTT).

Minnesota is 14-30 (.318%). Michigan is 31-13 (.705%).

What a crossroads!

And, just for frame of reference, Northwestern is 17-24 since then. Penn State is 11-32 since then, including 0-11 this year.

It was about then that unrest started to grow with Tubby as well. Everything had for the most part been going great until Nolen's injury (although I think Devoe's transfer about a week before should be mentioned as well, as I don't think either loss is bad on its own as it is in combination with the other). Tubby took an 8 win team to 20 wins, made the NIT, made the tournament the next two years, including in 2010 without White and Mbakwe who were both supposed to play that year, and without Nolen for most of the Big Ten season.
