Siena will be visiting the Gophers next season!!! This will be just a one-time match-up (guarantee game)

Hopefully the game will be on the Big 10 Network (I believe many Big 10 games are). Siena is going for it's third straight NCAA tournament this year.

Good luck the rest of this season. Looking forward to our game next year. I'll have more info on Siena's team in the offseason!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it will be the season opener. You guys lose Ubiles, Moore & Franklin to graduation, right. Any significant contributors coming back other than Rossiter?

Yes, Ubiles, Franklin and Moore graduate this year. Rossiter and Clarence Jackson will be seniors next year. Rossiter averages 14.5 and 11 will likely be the preseason POY in the MAAC next year. Clarence Jackson averages 13.6 a game, a likely 1st team all-MAAC player as well. Also have a transfer from Seton Hall sitting out Brandon Walters.

Siena will be talented next year but very young.

They bring in a solid recruiting class.. and are in the mix for a big time PG recruit (the kid has interest from ACC and Pac-10 programs).

Hard to tell how good Siena will be next year. Not as good as this team (a top 30 team) but for sure will be a top 100 team in the RPI.

Great year, congrats. Good to see them back to playing fantastic basketball.. they have had some very good seasons over the years... always gotta cheer for a good Catholic school.

And of course good people have come from Siena... retired Mpls/St. Paul Archbishop Harry Flynn... has undergrad and graduate degrees from Siena.. and an interesting fellow.. former head coach Mike Deane, who headed for Milwaukee in the mid 90s..

We won't see him this coming November, but Robert Poole, a 2011 SG with some size, recently verballed to Siena. He was always likely to go the route of a smaller school, but he did make an unofficial visit to Minnesota a few months ago. He took in a game I was also at - the dreadful game at TCF Bank vs. the SD State Jackrabbits. It was a cold, windy day, and the football was awful... breakfast at the Egg & I before the game was great, though. 2010 Forward Melsahn Basabe will be a guy to watch at November's game.

I'm looking forward to seeing Coach McCaffery's wife, Margaret. I coached her in 7th grade at the St. Paul JCC and she is still one of my favorite players ever.
