Sid: Ra'Shede Hageman and Michael Carter working to get eligible

Jerry Kill, if you read this - put Hageman at TE

Really hope they can get it together, I think they both have tons of potential.

Hageman supposedly hates playing defense. Hated it in high school, hates it now. It will interesting to see how this shakes out.

With Edwards departure we will need him at DT. So let's hope he can get his GPA where it needs to be.

All we have heard is a facebook post more than a month ago. I can't say we have heard anything else since then. I hope there is no legs to this. If the guy gets in shape, he could dominate some people.

I don't get how anyone could hate playing defense. I would rather spend my time teeing off on people and hitting them rather than getting hit.

If Hageman hates it that much he will never be good at it. His instincts seem to be to stand up when the ball is snapped, and he can get handled by any competent guard when that happens at DT. We'll see how it plays out, but if hecan't make himself master the technique, there is no point.
I can't imagine him losing enough mass to get back to playing tight end, unless in this offense it is just a slightly more mobil OT.

Is this official or just an assumption?

Not official....and I hope what I've been told will not happen. I'll just say there is a new Sheriff in town who will not put up with the same stuff the last regime put up with. Brew enabled some specific players and that no longer is the case. We'll see how it plays out.

Sean, are you at privilege to tell us the identity of some of the other enabled players? If not, it's cool, just curious...

Also, I really hope Hageman isn't switched back to offense simply because he likes playing TE better. If Hageman wants a future at the next level, he will learn to love playing DT. Hageman at DT is better for the team and Ra'Shede, himself.

Based on his size and strength, wouldn't he have all the makings of a great LT. I believe Jason Smith, the No. 2 pick from Baylor in 2009, was a tight end recruit that became an All American OL. It happens occasionally where TE recruits just keep getting bigger and NFL scouts salivate over 6'6 310 and a 4.8 40 especially with Hageman's strength.

Geez, if he doesn't like playing defense over playing tightend, I can't imagine him preferring OT or OG to TE. If he wants to play tight end, I'd let him! But I'd also let it be known he's going to have to lose about 35 pounds and get into semi-speed shape.

How about OT or OG?

It seems to me that Hagemen wants to be at a position where he can be in the spotlight, where he can get some publicity and fanfare. DT and O-line are the exact opposite, you work your tail off to allow other players to shine. Just my thought, no inside info or anything so I could be totally wrong.

That seems to be the gist of it if what I hear is accurate.

That's been my premonition as well. If that's his logic, it's stupid. Alan Page, Joe Greene, Bob Lilly, and Merlin Olsen (among many others) were all huge stars at DT. Hell, Vince Wilfork was on the cover of last week's SI.

Yeah, DTs get no love. Who's this Suh character I've heard little about? Was he even drafted that high?

Octopus Prim liked to mouth off to the coaches and really is a guy only concerned about himself. My hunch is he will not be here for next year.

I agree, he should do some research on how much money a top notch NFL LT makes these days, that's where he should be playing IMO.

Yeah and Im "Fairley" certain nobody was on TV for like 30 minutes of the BCS national championship game dominating his man play after play...he wont get paid...
