per Sid:

Yes, the Gophers are a two-touchdown favorite, but I believe this will be a close game. One of my reasons is that Purdue’s defensive coordinator is Greg Hudson, who worked under Mason and has proved to be one great football coach.

Asked if things were getting better with the young Purdue team, Hudson said: “They really are. We’re getting better on both sides of the ball, and our kicking game has been really good for us. Yeah, we had a chance in the fourth quarter [against Michigan State]. We took Iowa and them to the wire, now we have to find out how to finish those things. We’re doing it a little bit the old-fashioned way. It’s a tedious process, but we’re getting better.”

Go Gophers!!

He was a defensive coach under Mason? Uh, ok.

This game does have the smell of a possible trap game for the Gophers.

Kill on his weekly show made me a bit nervous. He said Purdue is the best offensive line they've seen this year. We didn't get a ton of pressure last week.

He also said they have been much more exotic on defense and taking chances over the last 4 games.

A coach like Coach Kill will never say they stink. :cool02:

He also talked about how the D is playing as a unit, assignment football. Their QB is inexperienced enough if he has to grind out drives, he's likely to be prone to some miscues. Then TC will occasionally throw a blitz at him and a big play for us happens.

Apparently Appleby has been a nice dual threat surprise at QB. Have to think the gophers won't be surprised now that there is tape from the last two games.

I a couple days ago, me and my wife went out to a bed and breakfast - we had a rare opportunity for overnight babysitting, and took advantage of it. For breakfast, we were served something called "pain perdu", which apparently means "wasted bread" in French. I take this as a sign.
