SI fire brew story

no punt

A lot of things went wrong today and not all of them coachable corrections. But I just didn't see Orseske having enough time to punt after it went over his head. Remember the Wisc game a few years ago? If he doesn't get it off, it's likely blocked for a touchdown. Get whatever yards you can and hope the def. holds them to a FG. Seems like he made the intelligent play.

It looked to me like he had more than enough space to try and kick that one away. Then again, I didn't have a couple 250+ pound guys charging me.

The frustrating thing about today's loss was the lack of discipline. Lack of discipline is a "coachable" correction. Just another reason to dismiss the coach.

This has been a hallmark of the Brewster regime.

This has been a hallmark of the Brewster regime.

Too true. As bad as Brew's in-game coaching has been, his true failure has been preparing his boys for the games. The gophers look ill-prepared to begin with, and show an inability to adjust.

All around bad coaching by this staff. And the staff of last year, and the year before.

"We just need to do a better job"...

"We...players, coaches everybody...just need to do a better job". We'll here that a few dozen times today and tomorrow.

We will hear that. And it will be true. Let's be honest- there isn't anything Brewster can say at this point that will make people happy. The press conference will still happen, however, and so the best thing Brewster can do in this situation is state the obvious. Everybody needs to do a better job.
