I don't know if this made the news on the Wisconsin boards or not but nice little story on Bruesewitz and the Badgers.

Well done guys!

I would like to saint Mike Bruesewitz, former Sibley basketball player and current University of Wisconsin Badger. A young athlete had been cut from a youth basketball team because he could not attend tryouts as a result of casts on his legs from tightening of his muscles during chemotherapy for treatment of a brain tumor and leukemia.

Mike and the Badgers heard the story and called the young athlete and invited him to the Badger-Marquette game Dec. 12. The boy attended practice and the game as an official ball boy and enjoyed supper with Mike after the game. Thank you, Mike, for being such a great role model.

Great, a Badger i'm going to be forced to root for. JK

What a great story and a great kid. His parents, coaches, friends, and himself should be proud of themselves for helping to mold such an impressive young man.

It is a nice story but couldn't they live in Eagan. Couldn't they have called someone in Minnesota?

Mike played for Sibley and the boy who was cut in Eagan plays for Mendota Hts Athletic - which feeds Sibley. Sibley does a great job supporting the youth programs with clinics, being referees, etc. It was a natural fit.

I understand why they called Wisconsin. It just seems to me that their first thought should be to call Minnesota.

Similar situation in Iowa or Wisconsin and they would not think of calling Minnesota.
