I know we have Purdue folks here. Nice win at Ohio State tonight. Great game!

Between this game and the MSU game, I think I'm going to have heart problems down the road.

Turner is a monster. It will be a crime if he doesn't get national POY.

Assuming both teams play each other again with only 3 B10 losses, the MSU vs Purdue game at Mackey should decide the conference champ.

We have Illinois, @ Minnesota, MSU, Indiana @PSU in that order.

Barring unexpected losses the road to the B10 banner right now runs though West Lafayette. Not many Purdue fans would believe you if you told them that after that 3 game slide. Now a little help was needed but I'll take it. Now if we could get UK to lose a few in a row Purdue would really have something. Many Purdue fans right now are think #1 seed but the two teams that complete scare Boilermaker fans are UK and KU. So I'm hoping that they end up on the other side of the bracket.

Kentucky and Kansas are on a higher level than all the other Div I teams this season. Purdue is close but not at their level.

I just can't buy it with Kentucky this year. They're too young. Great, great, team .. but still too young.

I agree FOT about Purdue, a very good team, but they are not at the highest level. I'd add Syracuse to that list with Kentucky and Kansas.

The Favorite: Kansas

Wouldn't Be Surprised If They Beat Kansas: Kentucky, Michigan State, Purdue, Syracuse, Villanova, West Virginia

Capable Of Beating Kansas On A Given Night: Duke, Georgetown, Gonzaga, K-State, Ohio State, Vanderbilt

Ok, here is my opinion as a Purdue grad. Boilers played well last night but Turner was the one who helped them at the end. He took too many bad shots. He reminded me of Gogher's Westbrook. OSU could have won if Turner played a bit smarter at the end. He was too tired to make those jumpshots.

Well, that's what the Buckeyes get for having no depth. A whopping 9 bench minutes from one guy last night. There's no doubt that Turner and the whole team were gassed by the last 5 minutes. They were settling for way too many jumpers.

Great point. That's why I think that OSU may have a not-so-great post-season. Too many games in such a short time.

Bingo. There are a lot of things about UK that people are overlooking, but two really big ones. #1, they play a deceptively weak schedule which is not preparing them for what lies ahead. There are literally no legitimate top-15 teams on their entire schedule before the NCAA tourney - they haven't proven themselves against the best of the best. So not only is public opinion of them inflated because they don't lose as many games as they would if they played a Big East schedule or a Big 10 schedule, but they also aren't getting a realistic picture of themselves & understanding how much they need to improve, so they'll be prime for an upset, starting in the second round - a typical 8 seed will be a tougher foe than what they've faced in 90% of their regular season games, so you really need to discount their record. Some of their better players like Cousins are really prone to being extremely frustrated and taken out of their game mentally, and that also ties in with them not being tested enough by their schedule & not being prepared for the runs that other great teams will be able to put on them. I could see Cousins being ejected from a game for something stupid out of frustration - he easily could've been ejected against Louisville. #2, their D is suspect. This ties into their youth. They are not a very good team defensive team. John Wall often defends the opponent's weakest offensive player and plays soft help D, so they are overly reliant on the other team not having 5 quality offensive players or 3 guys that are skilled driving the ball. They also don't do a very good job of defending the 3-point arc. These things will cost them against a team that can score at a high level, and that's the type of team they'll play in the tournament sooner or later. They would've lost for sure at Mississippi State but the Bulldogs' leading scorer (who happens to be the exact type of player who could torch UK with his outside shooting) was benched for off-court reasons - so by a lucky quirk (similar to how MSU built their lead on the rest of the Big 10 earlier) they've lost only 1 game instead of 2 (which is what they should have right now), and that's with a schedule with no legit top-15 teams (Vanderbilt still lost to Illinois and has too many average non-league losses like that for me to see them as a top-15 team even if they make it up there).

An OSU team with better overall talent and a similar combination of several talented newcomers and an experienced supporting cast barely made it past the opening weekend. I see UK as the same type team, but not as good, so they will lose earlier, no doubt in my mind. The question is how early.

Kentucky is 25-1. I think that they will win the whole thing personally. Reasons:

1. Young NBA lottery talent littered throughout the starting lineup...
2. Great depth with Patrick Patterson a great senior team leader also in that lineup.
3. Coach Calipari knows how to get into the big games...He's due for a National Championship. He's probably been the best coach around over the past 5 seasons.
4. Younger players tend to get better as the season progresses...how much better can Kentucky get? Odds are that they can get much better.
5. You have John Wall...undoubtedly the best player in college basketball...behind Turner.
6. Cousins is also in the number 5 category... A flat out beast!

That's why Kentucky is my personal favorite!

I'll be ridiculously surprised if Kentucky makes it to the Final Four. Yeah, they have heaps of talent. They also have no experience (oh wait, Patterson has NIT experience, my bad) and have played the softest schedule known to man. Vanderbilt is literally the only team that they have played that remotely resembles a sweet sixteen team! It's too bad that Tennessee lost half their team before the SEC schedule, but that's how it goes. Top non-conference wins were UCONN (lol), UNC (hahah), and Louisville (meh).

Whether or not they beat Vandy in Nashville tonight will probably decide how far I'll pick 'em. If they win, probably losing in the regional final. If they lose, I'll probably have them losing in the sweet sixteen. Depends on the draw.

Earlier this year I probably would have picked Kentucky down to four as well. It depends on the draw I guess. I'm just not convinced anymore. I'm looking forward to the epic meltdown when they lose in either the 16 or 8.

I Think UK Will Get To NC Game

Kansas has more experience. UK might have more talent.

I think UK can win it all.
