Shooter: Trestman will get mentioned for U job, but little doubt that Claeys gets job

Come on man. The people in Wisconsin are idiots. They are a state full of dumb people. Wisconsinites are small-minded people who don't appreciate an education. The reputation of Wisconsin-Madison is going down the toilet. They can't keep a head coach. Their two most recent coaches left for other jobs. They are starting to have serious problems and Minnesota needs to start taking advantage of that and thinking big. Being happy with 8-5 will get Minnesota nowhere.
True but those same inbreeded retards put a lot more money into the football team than we do. From top to bottom there is more support for revenue sports than there ever will be at the U. Even with the new villiage that's going to put us on par, not give us an advantage, for those who don't know schools that invest in their programs are always putting money into their facilities. IU and Kentucky just finished renovations for their Bball facilities. Nebraska has a recruiting Air Force. As for being 8-5 that's what a typical season should look like, were not winning Big Ten every year, if 8-5 is the mean and every recruiting class plays on at least one legit Big Ten title contender. Than that's a healthy program.

While there may be some kids who want to get away from home for college, I suspect more would like to stay home so that their family and friends can watch them play.

I doubt this. I really do.

Vagopher us dead on; the majority of Mn football kids who have the option (not only offer from the U) want to win first and stay home second. When the gopher program is at or near the same level as Wisconsin or dare I say Ohio State, we will have a sustainable winning program. More times than not, the best football players want to play WITH the best and compete for championships (coaches or the same). A home town program that offers that usually gets the majority of the best players in the state or at least most of the ones they want.
