I love Dungy, but I don't think he has the right voice/energy to be an analyst that does anything more than chime in once or twice a quarter. If he's doing play by play..... those games will be rough to listen to.
 

We'll see. I never would have expected Justin Morneau to be good in the booth but he's doing fine.

Very apt comparison, IMO. Vanilla, objective, knowledgeable. Explain the finer points of the game without overwhelming you. They're not the reason you tune in, but not so bad that you'll change the channel.

The best analysts do all of the above AND make the game seem more exciting. Think Collinsworth, Aikman, Romo, Herbstreit, et al. I think it's unlikely Dungy gets into that category, but he'll do a fine job.

Collinsworth is awful and is the reason I change the channel at times

I agree about the others though
 


That is why god made the mute button.
I do not need the distraction of people telling me about what I can see.
The ND announcers are the most irritating homers in the business.
