Tom Kelly, who managed the Twins to World Series championships in 1987 and 1991, initiated the catch phrase “We’re all in this boat together. Everybody grab an oar.”
Now along comes new Gophers football coach P.J. Fleck with his “Row the Boat” slogan.
That’s fine with Kelly.
“As long as they row it in the right direction, and I’m sure (Fleck) will,” Kelly said. “He seems to have a lot of enthusiasm. I just hope he has good luck and wins some games. We enjoy the Gophers, and we’re rooting for him.”
