per Shooter:
Spencer Tollackson, 33, the former Gopher who was Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball in 2004 out of Chaska High and is in his 10th season as Gophers radio analyst, is in a boot cast after undergoing a second reconstructed right ankle surgery. The previous surgery was in 2009.
Tollackson had the same reconstructed surgery on his left ankle in 2015.
“It’s 100 percent a derivative of my time playing basketball,” he said. “You sprain your ankle and roll it so many times that those ligaments become like a rubber band,” he said. “I’ve (sprained) each ankle four or five times per season since I was 15.”
Tollackson’s fulltime career is in sales with Dell Technologies.
